So guess what I did? Okay maybe you don’t have to guess. Maybe you can already can see it. The thing is that I finally made the move from Blogger to WordPress. Which also means I have my own domain now. And it feels awesome.
I’ve been thinking about moving my blog to WordPress for about a month or so, but always convinced myself to stay at Blogger for various reasons. But then a week ago Blogger messed with me once again, and I decided not to take it anymore. So I made the move. And I couldn’t be more happy about it.
So what is it then that makes me feel so in love with WordPress? Well, the first thing is that, like I mentioned, I now have my own domain. Which totally makes me feel like I’m one of the cool kids now. Yes, I’m a bit of a geek I know. Other than that, having my own domain makes me feel a bit more like a “real” blogger, like I’m actually know what I’m doing. (I did mention that I am a geek, right?)
But the thing that really, really makes me love WordPress is the plugins. I knew that there were going to be plugins, and that they would be able to make things a bit easier. The thing I didn’t realize was how much easier they would make things. There are plugins for everything one could need on a blog. There are the amazing Yoast plugin for SEO, and there is one for AdSense and some different ones for social media buttons, and then there are even more ones that you probably don’t need.
It took me some time to figure out which ones I needed and how to use them. But now when I’ve done that, the plugins I have makes this whole blogging thing a lot easier.
Making the move from Blogger to WordPress is by far the best thing I’ve done when it comes to blogging. How did you feel about WordPress when you first made the move? Or, if you don’t use WordPress, do you think you ever will switch over?
